Beautiful Biltmore

It is grand. It is gorgeous. It is historic. It is elegant. It is the Biltmore.

We do many weddings at the Biltmore, and each wedding is a show-stopper.

Today we are featuring Neda and Arash's wedding.

To say that this couple is high-energy is an understatement. The day started with the hair and make-up team at Neda's suite. It was a lot of laughing, talking, anxiety, celebration; and it was loud.

Our groom, Arash, came later to check in his suite and it was go, go, go (as it always is with Arash).

Their first look was a memorable one, at the grand balcony:

After seeing each other, they were off to take some photos on their own in Biltmore and it's gorgeous surrounding property. Yes, it was only fitting that we had a stunning classic car for photos :)

After taking some photos on their own, and then some formal photos with family and close friends, cocktail hour started for guests as they entered to sign the kettubah.

Here is the close family present during the kettubah ceremony.

After cocktail hour and kettubah ceremony was done, guests were escorted to the Chuppa ceremony.
Here is the gorgeous ceremony:

These pretties were hanging inside the Chuppa.

After the ceremony, guests were escorted to the Crystal Ballroom for the reception.

The reception was beautiful in décor and florals. It was also super fun, with the top of the line entertainment by Kasha Ensemble (aka Allen G. Orchestra).

Oh, here is the cocktail hour we transformed into the dessert room during the Chuppa ceremony.

As if the detail shots above weren't enough, here are a few more for your viewing pleasure:

Everyone had a memorable night!

Hope you enjoyed today's post!

Lots of Love,
Susan

Glam Is Glam...and That's Fabulous

Today we would like to talk a little bit about all the hoopla going on over 'Old Hollywood Glam' or 'The Great Gatsby' or '1920's Hollywood' themed weddings.

First off, all these terms can mean the same thing or entirely different things, depending on who you ask. For us, we think of something entirely different when we think of 'Old Hollywood Glam' than when we think of 'The Great Gatsby' or '1920's Hollywood'.

'Old Hollywood' to us, can mean all things glitz and glam, from the good old days of Hollywood when the stars were, well, the stars! (Think satin, broaches, fur caplets, gloves, black, white, red, etc).

'The Great Gatsby' and '1920's Hollywood' go hand in hand, because if you've read the book, or know the story, you know that the story is set in that time period. Also, Gatsby's glam was reflective of the 1920's hot-to-trots, so it makes sense.

This year, with the upcoming release of the film 'The Great Gatsby' (Leonardo DiCaprio...), the wedding industry is prepared to work on, and already has worked on many weddings with the movie's theme. Vendors are ready to whip out the feathers, pearls, bling, head pieces, gold, champagne, and chandeliers for Gatsby fans.

Here's what we are talking about:

When you look at the above photos (Google, by the way), you can see that the top two photos go in one direction and the last two photos go in a different direction. The top two are more obviously lush, opulent, if I may. The bottom two are more vintage-y glam (Think hanging chandeliers from trees and using the fanciest silver/gold ware on rustic wood tables).

Either way, they are interpretations of what Gatsby is all about. Whatever your perception of  'Old Hollywood Glam', or 'The Great Gatsby', or '1920's Hollywood'  is, there are endless variations for this theme you can incorporate in your wedding.

Here are two photos from the movie (back in 1974) with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.

These two photos from different scenes are very different, much like the photos posted above these. That' what we love about perception and interpretation. It is uniquely your own! Your wedding can play off either one of these two themes from the same story :)

With that said, look closely at the details of the weddings you attend this year and see for yourself what elements each couple has pulled in from the theme.

At the end of the day, Old, Vintage, or New, Glam is Glam...and that's fabulous!

Lots of Love,
Susan

Siran + Khachik's Outstanding Outdoor Wedding

Today we are happy to feature Siran and Khachik's outstanding outdoor wedding.

Our beautiful bride is Siran. She's the perfect combo of brains and beauty. And, we love that she's oh-so girly.

Our groom is Khachik. I can tell you that he is a stud-muffin, as well as the BESTEST DANCER EVER!

Here's Siran and Khachik looking fabulous on their Big Day:

Could you imagine the gorgeous babies they will make?!

This wedding day was awesome. We liked it because the wedding ceremony stood alone. It started with a noon Church ceremony at the beautiful St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.

After they tied the knot, the newlyweds went to take some breath-taking post-ceremony photos:

Later that evening, guests arrived at the amazing residence for the wedding reception. The cocktail hour was wonderful as guests enjoyed small talk, background music, and phenomenal drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
We then escorted guests to the outside reception to find their seats and get the party started! They had a blast celebrating all night.
We love this shot of them letting loose:

This is when I can tell you that Khachik has spent a majority of his life in dance. No, I don't mean 'just dance', I mean real, trained, professional dance. Man, talk about dance machines. It was wonderful to watch because the guests were feeding off the energy on the dance floor all night!

And the cake cutting was beautiful, as the cake table was in a special location all for itself. A beautiful display!

I must say that, as usual, our work days are never without special "fun" as we call it. This wedding was no exception. This gorgeous cake table later caught on fire. Yes, you read it right... caught on fire! Don't worry, we caught it super fast and salvaged it, all by ourselves! Just another adventure ;)

The night was beautiful. The weather was perfect, the décor was perfect, the food was perfect, and the bride and groom were perfect. It was a night to remember for everyone.

Here's some eye candy from the wedding:

Guests could not mistake the reception venue, with this awesome "Happily Ever After" sign to greet them!

And this is what they were greeted with once inside for cocktail hour. YUM!
Siran's beautiful bouquet:

Beautiful florals awaiting guests for cocktail hour:

These love bird nests with candy as the "eggs" were the favors, which we set in each place setting

Beautiful moss and orchids covered little votive holders

The florals were soft and lush with beautiful texture:

Centerpieces were surrounded with long beautiful silver taper candles and raised glass tealight candles (shown above), with hanging crystals from each one.

The cake table was beautiful, adorned with fresh roses, with candles and florals surrounding it.

Monograms were set against the beautiful trees, which is super unique!

Everything was so soft and lush, matching the venue perfectly, while keeping it romantic.

As an ending note, I must tell you that Siran is the one bride that I would love to work with me. She made almost every detail of this wedding with her own two hands. Too bad, she's too smart to enter this industry!!!

We wish Siran and Khachik a life full of music, so they never have to dance alone.

Lots of Love,
Susan
